In the past, it was certainly unthinkable to imagine a driverless car capable of moving from one place to another over long distances while transporting people. However, it is now a reality thanks to different studies and tests carried out over the last few years, with a special focus on 2021. In fact, the state of California has started operating an autonomous driving service.
It was all made possible by General Motors through the start-up company Cruise, which received permission from the California Public Utilities Commission to initiate what is undoubtedly considered to be the mobility of the future.
In this way, General Motors became the first company to get the go-ahead to operate driverless cabs. The city of San Francisco, a very busy and ideal area to demand the maximum capacity was used as a test center, where trips were not charged at this stage.

Cruise Origin in Detail
The Cruise Origin autonomous vehicle is based on 100% electric modular technology, being sustainable in the long term given that its parts can be changed once it is sold with the aim of keeping them far away from the trash. Now, General Motors assures that this vehicle will be able to travel up to 1,600,000 km, saving its users around $5,000 dollars compared to an ordinary cab.
The seats are located on the axles of the vehicle, allowing passengers to face the front with plenty of space inside the Cruise, in fact, comfort increases up to three times more compared to an ordinary car. On the other hand, its doors are sliding, which guarantees the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and motorized vehicles.
