Aquarius Engines, introduced a hydrogen version of its new linear free-piston engine. The 10 kg apparatus is based on the same technology as the original patented single piston linear motor.
The lightweight design of the new hydrogen engine and the unique internal gas exchange method would greatly reduce emissions and the global carbon footprint.
The 10kg Aquarius engine was invented in 2014 and is designed to be used as an on-board power generator in a vehicle or as a standalone electricity generator. Unlike most conventional engines that are made up of hundreds of parts, the Aquarius engine has only twenty components and one moving part.
Its lightweight and aerodynamic design makes it economical and highly efficient with minimal maintenance requirements compared to traditional engines.
The Israel-based company waited to unveil the new hydrogen engine until successful tests were conducted. Tests showed that a modified version of the original Aquarius engine can run completely on hydrogen.

The original Aquarius engine generator is currently undergoing successful field tests in North America, Europe, Asia and Australasia and the company recently announced partnership agreements with Nokia.
The collaboration will be in the field of remote communications and power equipment management, in addition to establishing a subsidiary in Tokyo and partnering with Japanese auto parts manufacturers TPR and Honda affiliate Musashi Seimitsu.
Aquarius Engines technology currently has around two dozen registered patents worldwide. Aquarius Engines also has manufacturing and development centers in Israel, Germany and Poland.
