The merger between DS and PENSKE not only announced the brand new signing of reigning Formula E champion Stofel Vandoorne. The now DS PENSKE appointed this week the experienced Eugenio Franzetti to lead the destinies of the DS Performance brand.
With a great track record in the world of motorsport, Franzetti has spent most of his career in the Stellantis group. He successively held the positions of Director of Communication and Competition for Peugeot in Italy, Director of Communication for DS Automobiles/Citroën/Peugeot in Italy,
As of November 1, 2022, he will officially be in charge of the DS Automobiles racing division and will work closely with PENSKE AUTOSPORT to ensure the notoriety of the DS PENSKE Formula E Team and promote the firm.

In statements released by the official Stellantis website, Franzetti assured that his appointment is a dream come true. “I’ve been passionate about motorsport since my childhood and I’m going to be able to turn my passion into a job, which is a great opportunity.”
“I look forward to working closely with our great champions Stoffel and JEV, building a strong partnership with PENSKE AUTOSPORT, achieving more victories with the team and showcasing the technologies developed by DS Performance through this great world championship,” he added.
For her part, DS Automobiles CEO Béatrice Foucher warmly welcomed Franzetti as DS Performance Director. “His knowledge of the brand acquired in the management of DS Italy, together with his experience in marketing, communication and motorsport, are assets that will contribute to strengthening DS’ influence in Formula E.”
“DS Performance is a real laboratory, a great asset at the service of our 100% electric strategy and the competitiveness of our models. Eugenio will be responsible for involving DS Performance in this new acceleration phase in collaboration with Thomas Chevaucher, Technical Director of the Formula E program at Stellantis”, he explained.
DS has been one of the great entertainers of Formula E since its inception with 89 races contested, four titles, 15 victories, 44 podiums and 21 pole positions.
