The e-Trophée Andros, a fully electric category since 2019, has finally released its official calendar for season 2021-2022. After an unsuccessful 2020, due to COVID-19 pandemic, the event returns on December 4 and 5 for a new challenge.
This is a French motor racing championship held every boreal winter since 1990, and was born out of negotiations between rallycross driver Max Mamers and the Andros Food Company.
After the tournament finals held this January in Val Thorens, the Alain Prost circuit will host the opening of the new edition, with Serre Chevalier and Lans-en-Vercors (French territory), regulars on the calendar as well.

The grand finale will take place on January 29 at Super Besse, another French ski resort located in Massif Central, on the southern slope of Sancy peak. It is located in the Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise commune, within the Auvergne Volcanoes regional natural park.
More Details about the Tournament
Despite being a very local championship as all races take place on Gallic soil, e-Trophée Andros has attracted rally, rallycross and mountain racing drivers. It has also drawn the attention of prominent rally-raid racers like Stéphane Peterhansel.
The event has also seen performances by drivers involved in speed motor racing, such as Yvan Muller, Alain Prost, Olivier Panis, Tiago Monteiro and Franck Lagorce.
It takes place on ice-covered circuits, most of which are located in or close to ski resorts in the French Alps and Pyrenees, such as L’Alpe d’Huez, Serre Chevalier and Val Thorens.
Since 1999, once the championship is over, an exhibition race is usually held in other parts of France, especially the Stade de France, to delight fans who are far from the official courses.
Transition to Electrification
After 2018 edition, during which thermal and electric vehicles shared the grid, the Max Mammers organization, responsible for the event planning, supported by drivers and teams, decided to take the final step to make the Andros, a 100% electric event.
The categories remain the same as the original ones: Elite Pro, Elite and Trophée ENEDIS, the latter reserved for guest drivers.
