After securing its participation in the third generation (Gen3) era of Formula E, Maserati’s inclusion in the electric category brings outstanding news. It is a partnership with the ROKiT Venturi Racing team for season 9.
Although the details of the alliance are not known in depth, the official Formula E website highlights the statements of Jean-Marc Finot, Senior Vice President of STELLANTIS Motorsport, who noted that the collaboration of Maserati’s design skills and Venturi’s racing capabilities and experience will provide a very efficient package. “Our common DNA and our passion for performance will bring the team together,” he said.
Maserati will become the first Italian brand to compete in Formula E as it ends a 60-year hiatus from single-seater motorsport.

ROKiT is among the current series leaders, and on record, season 7 was the team’s best so far, with two race wins and five podiums, while Edoardo Mortara finished second in the Drivers’ standings.
Innovative partnership
For Davide Grasso, CEO of Maserati, returning to motorsport with Formula E was a natural choice for the brand. “We are driven by our passion and innovation and we are happy to share this adventure with a partner that is driven by the same values we do and is looking to the future, just like us. We share with the ROKiT Venturi Racing team the same determination and desire to compete and win on circuits around the world.”
For her part, Susie Wolff, CEO and managing partner of ROKiT Venturi Racing, stressed that joining Maserati marks the beginning of a new chapter and represents the best possible outcome for the team after a successful partnership with Mercedes-EQ.
“Being entrusted with the return of one of motorsport’s most recognized brands to international single-seater competition underlines our success over the past few seasons in which we have firmly established ourselves as a commercially viable, race-winning team that can seriously compete for championships,” he added.
In the same vein, Scott Swid, president and managing partner of ROKiT Venturi Racing, called the partnership with Maserati for Gen3 “brilliant.” “This not only lays a solid foundation for our long-term future in Formula E, but also marks one of the most exciting stories in international sport in which a prestigious brand returns to its roots by joining forces with the most progressive and fastest-growing,” he said.
