Born as a student project, it could end up in the production of a vehicle based on advanced technology, mixed with a design that makes it one of the most beautiful prototypes of recent times.
It is the Lincoln Anniversary Concept created through a challenge involving the American brand and the ArtCenter College of Design, based in Southern California.
The automaker has a close relationship with the prestigious school, and four design student teams were challenged to imagine the Lincoln vehicles of the future, specifically 2040 and beyond.

The proposal also involved film students, illustrators, entertainment designers and animators to create an overall story that evolves beyond the cars into a painting of a future world in which they will operate.
The specific goal was to sketch an electric, connected and autonomous car that would be quiet and engaging. The outcome of the work by the students has pleasantly surprised the automotive world.
Not Just Ideas So Far
The Anniversary team has progressed beyond designs and built a full-size mock-up. The prototype is described as a four-passenger vehicle packed with digital technology, allowing users to connect with the present and past.
It draws attention to its powerful yet stylish coupe silhouette, characterized by a very elongated bodywork which reaffirms its imposing visual dynamism.
“The car is important, but just as important is the world in which this car lives,” says Jordan Meadows, Global Strategic Design Specialist for Lincoln.
As Meadows also notes, “ArtCenter College of Design is not only a fantastic school for vehicle design, but it’s also in the home of the entertainment industry, close to Los Angeles, where we have great storytellers, and we wanted to take advantage of those opportunities.”
Among the purpose of this initiative is to provide a platform for young people to showcase their skills to automotive brands that are looking for new talent.
