Word e-Bike Series (WES) is getting ready to close the UCI E-MTB World Cup 2022 in Barcelona. The race will be staged next Saturday, October 15 in Castelldefels, Spain, as the customary site to bring down the curtain on the competition since it was inaugurated in 2019.
Cyclists in the 100% electric bike category will have to face a course that will rotate counterclockwise with a distance per lap of 3.9 kilometers, while the overall course will be 7 laps for a total of 27.3 kilometers.
The level of ascent will be 952 meters and several parts of the circuit stand out for being tricky, especially a little before the middle of the course, as well as in the final sections.
Barcelona will be the last test of fire where the Swiss Nicole Göldi (Trek) will try to take the top honors, as she is 44 points ahead of the German Sofia Wiedenroth (Specialized). On the other hand, the men’s section figures more loosely with Frenchman Jérôme Gilloux (Lapierre) leading the standings with 73 points ahead of his closest pursuer, Swiss Joris Ryf (Bergstrom).

About WES
WES World E-Bike Series was born in 2019 in Monaco, to organize and promote the first international competition of exclusively electric bicycles. By 2020, the category took the step to the next level by receiving the title of the first and sole UCI E-Mountain Bike Cross-Country World Cup.
WES aims to go beyond the sport, to offer the cycling industry an exciting new sustainable-mobility format. WES promotes E-MTB as a fun and challenging choice for athletes and amateurs, and mountain bike tourism as a driver for hosting venues’ visibility.
