Looking ahead to the conclusion of Extreme E season 1 in the UK, Veloce Racing will have a new driver line-up to contest the Jurassic X Prix. Jamie Chadwick is back on the ODYSSEY 21 after returning as the reigning W Series champion. However, this time he will have Lance Woolridge as his new teammate.
The South African will replace Stéphane Sarrazin, receiving his first opportunity in Extreme E to act as a starter after an important role throughout the debut campaign of the electric off-road category, as advisor to several teams and reserve and development driver, ready to jump as soon as an opportunity arose.
Woolridge arrives with enough endorsement to be behind the wheel of the ODYSSEY 21: Double South African Cross Country Series (SACCS) Class T Production Vehicle winner (2018-2019) and FIA SACCS runner-up. His resume at the off-road level allows him to take on this challenge with confidence and enthusiasm.
“I think I can speak for everyone at Veloce when I say that we are very excited to have two such talented drivers behind the wheel for the Extreme E season finale, and our home race,” said Rupert Svendsen-Cook, Team Principal.

“Lance has been doing a fantastic job as our reserve and development driver this season, as well as having a great year racing in South Africa, so we are delighted to give him this opportunity,” he continued.
He also highlighted Chadwick’s return to finish the inaugural Extreme E campaign on a high note, which captivated from the outset and throughout the course of which he was able to position himself in sustainable motorsport, win prestigious accolades and bring a different vision on how to address the effects of climate change.
“Likewise, Jamie has had an incredible year in the W Series and got our first podium in Senegal, let’s not forget, so he certainly knows his way around the ODYSSEY 21. Together, these two drivers will be a potent combination,” he concluded.
