Israel-based startup EVR Motors introduced a new electric motor based on a proprietary topology called TSRF (Trapezoidal Stator Radial Flux).
Unlike its previous prototypes, the motor is half the size of its previous version and 10% lighter than RFPM motors (Radial Flux Permanent Magnet), which have a similar power.
“We succeeded in changing the basic design of the electric motor, which has remained largely the same over the past decades, while maintaining the traditional advantages of radial flow motors,” explained Opher Doron, CEO of EVR Motors.
He also asserted that with the lightweight mechanisms provided by the company, manufacturers will be able to offer consumers even better performing vehicles at a lower cost due to the ease of installation of the engines.
TSRF technology allows a wide range of power and torque outputs, with voltages ranging from 48 to 800 volts, suitable for different power levels and for a wide range of speeds.

So far, the company has data from the tests carried out with a prototype for electric vehicles with two and three wheels. The engine, with a weight of nine kilograms, a volume of two liters and air-cooled, was capable of reaching 17 kW of power and a torque of 40 Nm.
The result thus far outperforms other small air-cooled radial flow engines with further testing expected in the coming months, as well as other engines for larger vehicles.
