Many may think that the first electric racing division was the ABB FIA Formula E, however, this is not so, since e-Trophée Andros is the category that dared to take one of the first leaps towards sustainability. e-Trophée Andros takes place in France on the nation’s freezing ice. While the category was born in 1990, in 2019, it was electrified to give continuity to the division in a green way. Eight two-wheel drive vehicles made up the initial peloton, being developed by Exagon Engineering.
By 2020, the drive became all-wheel drive along with a number of changes that raised the level of the series. The engine and maximum torque it can offer increased so that the drivers took on a greater role behind the wheel to the point of becoming the largest 100% electric series in the world when racing on ice.

e-Trophée Andros: Vehicle
The participating drivers in this category have 4-wheel drive tubular frame vehicles weighing 1130 kilograms, single-report gearbox, 2 glycol water-cooled inverters (one per motor), 14-module battery offering 50 V and weighing 240 kilograms that can be recharged from 20 to 80% in 36 minutes.
Competition Mode
The e-Trophée Andros races are held on weekends. Each competition includes a free practice session, two qualifying heats, a Super Pole (ELITE PRO drivers only), a final and a Super Final. Each event accumulates points and the overall winner will be whoever registers the most units.
