Targeting 2030 as part of the electrification program, Toyota has a series of plans to develop electromobility inside its factories. One of the vehicles that stands out from this plan is the electric pick-up, which has a particular resemblance to the Tacoma model.
The prototype of what this imposing vehicle from the Asian manufacturer would look like has been unveiled, detailing a notorious robustness. With a wide, broad and elevated front end. In addition, the aerodynamic design combines with aesthetics to create an attractive mix providing the necessary strength to face difficult roads without losing the elegance of the bodywork.
The large tires detail the function it will have: An electric off-roader ready to traverse tricky surfaces without losing grip. At the moment no specific details are known about the mechanics, either battery or electrified propulsion, but it will certainly be part of the ‘Toyota offensive’ for a sustainable future.
“If the energy powering vehicles is not clean, the use of an electrified vehicle, no matter what type it is, would not result into zero CO2 emissions. At Toyota, we will do everything we can to manufacture such vehicles,” said Akio Toyoda, Brand President, via an official press release.

Toyota’s Green Outlook
From Toyota’s offices, they firmly believe on the electric future. Therefore, a total of 30 battery electric models (BEV) will be launched between now and 2030, contributing to reduce polluting emissions, where commercial and passenger vehicles will stand out.
Furthermore, the Asians have been working on the hydrogen scene for some time now. The Toyota Mirai is one of them, which had a resounding success when it was used at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games to transport staff, athletes and participating delegations. Moreover, the Olympic Village ran on hydrogen to demonstrate the viability of this green fuel.
