Formula E teams are fine-tuning their artillery ahead of Season 8 of the electric single-seater category. The tournament will arrive by 2022 with a new qualifying format and an expanded calendar with more races and new venues.
As for Jaguar Racing, it is reorganizing all departments and established a major alliance to strengthen the structure and development with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global leader on information technology, consulting and business solutions.
The India-based company expands the global sponsorship portfolio in sporting events, which already includes the New York, London and Amsterdam marathons, and will now venture into sustainable motorsport.
The Partnership’s Focus
Jaguar Land Rover and TCS will build on a broad commercial relationship. Translating leadership in technology transformation and experience of working with key players across the automotive value chain, the company has the ambition and conviction to support the team to become a global role model for electrification.
The rebranding of the team includes a rebranding of the successful Jaguar I-TYPE 5 race car for the upcoming Formula E season. In addition, Jaguar TCS Racing has begun a freshening of its image as part of the “Reimagine” strategy.

The learnings and technology transfer from Formula E will help reinvent the Jaguar brand as an all-electric luxury manufacturer starting in 2025, matching the company’s commitment to the Gen3 era.
Organizational Changes
In the midst of Jaguar’s ongoing revamp, the experienced James Barclay takes over as managing director of Jaguar Land Rover Motorsport Limited, in addition to his role as team principal of Jaguar TCS Racing.
Meanwhile, Jaguar Land Rover CEO, Thierry Bolloré, becomes chairman of the new organization. All future opportunities and benefits for the Jaguar and Land Rover brands will be explored through this newly formed division.
Heading into the final Gen2 season after the team’s most successful Formula E campaign, where they finished as runner-up on the constructors’ table, the British squad has a highly competitive and efficient single-seater racing car in the Jaguar I-TYPE 5, and one of the strongest driver pairings with Sam Bird and Mitch Evans returning to provide speed, consistency and highly valuable experience.
