The company has developed a new container for electric vehicle batteries, offering a variety of functions that may go far beyond their primary purpose. It will be produced in large quantities shortly after successfully passing rigorous tests.
It is worth noting that an element of this type must go through a complicated path before going to market, since its chemical and mechanical properties must find a balance because of its thermal management and potential consequences of a strong impact caused by accidents, therefore, shock absorption is necessary to be channeled.
This casing has been called Durethan BKV30FN04 and is made of polyamide 6, a fiberglass-reinforced material which provides extreme safety measures, as it cannot be ignited.
Also, its light weight, makes it ideal for not increasing the weight of the vehicles, optimizing results when it is necessary to install additional equipment, and providing optimal characteristics when covering the batteries without affecting the functionality they perform.

LANXESS Casing Details
LANXESS claims that it can withstand an extremely high voltage of up to 800 V after numerous tests and studies. It also has the advantage of blocking or suppressing this energy charge, in case of emergencies or if necessary. This, together with the materials described above, makes it highly resistant.
Moreover, the casing can be used to perform other functions beyond the coating of electric car batteries, such as high-voltage connectors, cell cooling system pipes or cable supports. It can even be used to reinforce the hydrogen tank.
