Elon Musk’s name has been trending during the last few weeks in social networks. First for his recent acquisition of Twitter, and then for issues related to Tesla, price increases in its vehicles and problems it has gone through with two of its gigafactories at a monetary level.
A few months ago, the South African revealed in an interview that the factories in Texas and Berlin have become money-losers for the South African entrepreneur. Now, through his official Twitter account he sent out a rather simple but explanatory tweet about what Tesla is all about, i.e. what is the purpose of its existence.
“Tesla is to protect life on Earth,” the company’s CEO pointed out, and then went on to reveal the mission of another of his companies: SpaceX is to extend life beyond (the planet)”. Although it may have been a few months ago, this message has come a long way to the present day.

What Did He Mean?
After creating Tesla, Elon Musk received multiple criticisms for entering a market that saw no signs of positivity at the time. More than a decade ago, many people were not in favor of electric vehicles, thinking that they would not be able to keep up with a car powered by fossil fuels, and even, some are better.
The South African had that vision and so he went all in with the electrified car company. The process was not easy, but today he can claim to be the world’s largest manufacturer of electric vehicles, with a strong presence in the United States.
Only four models are part of its repertoire, but they all manage to sell strongly, with the Tesla Model 3 being one of the most popular. Other interesting projects include the Cybertruck and the Semi truck.
Tesla contributes to “protecting life on Earth”, as Musk states, thanks to its sustainable line that manufactures electric cars, essential means of transportation to reduce carbon emissions, as well as solar panels, alternatives that help reduce the global temperature that currently affects the planet, and aims to have irreversible consequences in the coming years if the current lifestyle that is led on the planet is not reversed.
